Staff, parents, students, and friends came together recently to acknowledge the accomplishments of the students at Futures Academy. Young people were recognized for a variety of accomplishments including Pickens Technical College transitions and graduations, Community College of Aurora transitions, and GED certificates. Staff awards were also provided to 24 students for a variety of personal and academic successes during the 2010-2011 school year.
Futures Academy is a partnership between Aurora Public Schools and Colorado Youth for a Change. This rigorous academic program works with 150 students annually who are not going to earn enough credits to graduate in four years and prepares them for post-secondary work.
