Welcome

Since 2005, Colorado Youth for a Change (CYC) has worked collaboratively with Colorado school districts to do the following:
    - Create dropout outreach and recovery programs that reengage dropouts in educational settings
    - Implement intervention programs that prevent at-risk high school students from dropping out
    - Design new school programs that meet the needs of out-of-school youth.
We are proud to partner with six school districts in working to solve Colorado's dropout crisis.

CYC Discusses the Costs of Dropping Out

Colorado Public Television (CPT12) focuses on the costs of youth dropping out in Colorado. In addition, CPT12 brings more awareness to the amount of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) youth who leave the school system due to the attacks of others.

Youth Success Impact Partner

In 2010, Colorado Youth for a Change proudly became one of Mile High United Way’s impact partners under the “youth success” initiative. As a result, our organization was featured in their corporate giving campaign video. Watch the video to learn more about two young men who have benefited from CYC’s programming.

Reducing Denver’s Dropout Rate

We at Colorado Youth for a Change believe that the dropout crisis in Colorado is solvable, and a recent report shows that we are making progress and keeping more students engaged in school. In fact, the DPS dropout rate fell 42% in the past five years. As we expand into our 6th school district, we are thrilled to see that through community partnerships, national research, and local data analysis we can make a difference in the lives of these young people.
